Halifax Bridge World June 2009 Calendar
June is a busy month with lots of points available. Starting with Friday night
June 5th and Saturday afternoon, June 6th we have the 23rd Worldwide Bridge
Contest. These are two separate games awarding red and black points. You can
play in either and/or both games. Sign up early to reserve your seat. Two
exciting chances for a Nova Scotian pair to come 1st in the world. That would be
bragging rights! Each game is played with the same hands and will be
matchpointed across the world. You can check your results online at (www.ecatsbridge.com/sims)
. These games will be stratified at the club level with an “A”, “B” and “C”
section. Don’t miss out on this prestigious event!
The past several years we raised funds for the Recovery of Children of
Chernobyl. This year our fund raiser will be held on June 14th for
Canada World Youth. The game will be stratified and all are welcome.
There will be door prizes, 50/50 draw, and tickets on a print graciously donated
by Pat Burstall. Sandwiches, sweets and treats including our famous Chocolate
Fountain will be offered all afternoon. Tickets are only $10 with all proceeds
going to Canada World Youth. Get your tickets early for this very popular event.
